stick coils?

Welcome 88vmx12....

That is one bada$$ looking max you got there...Do you have any more pics? I admire the work you put into that....

Nice VMAX! That will be my next project. No V65 for me never liked the style. Put on the COP Scooby made and they definetly improved throttle response quite happy with them. He was selling some if I remember correctly.

yes, 2 of my ZL's are running stick coils (ZLMark's old 900, & Eleanor) i love them ! will be switching stock coils out with stick coils on the others in my collection soon.

Good deal CHRIS. Is your set up as described in this thread ?
Thanks for the input.

when ZLMark set his bike up & documented everything i decided to try it on Eleanor. both bikes are set up exactly as documented.

I got stick coils in my ZL1k right after a bought it used a couple of years ago. Cannot tell how much better they are since I haven't ridden it with the conventional coils; but it does make the top of the engine less cluttered.

Thanks for your input. Every positive post reafirms my decision to go that route. I have heard nothing negative.

No real advantage or performance improvement - unless it's just something you want to do.

I'll stick with my heavy-duty Dyna coils, thank you

Heavy duty Dyna add any performance ? What's the cost Kaw ? Thanks

I run the dyna coils also.....you can find on e-bay or in or ZL store also......not sure on exact amount but around 200 bucks!

I run the accel coils. I can't find the posts but the only negative thing I heard about the stick coils was that if you have battery issues there is some sort of problem getting the bike to start or something like that - it involved Bacchus, I just can't find the posts - I think it happened when ZLMark went out that way to ride with his buddies and Bacchus. Not a major issue, just something to possibly keep in mind. Later.

I ran dyna coils on my 900. I switched my 1000 to stick coils a couple years back. Both work great.

Both my ZRXs and my ZL1200R.

Back to back dyno before and after showed a 1 HP increase.

Plus the clean up of the area under the tank greatly eases the changing of plugs.

HOLY COW!!!!!! Is that really MachIV?!?!?! Good to see you still kickin' around. Later.

Jarney,

I haven't ridden it in three years.
Started working on it Sat. and was interrupted by a paying customer.
