stick coils?

The big difference there is the ZL6 link is quoting magazine tester specs and the ZL9 is John Roots brothers first time at the track. Magazine specs for the ZL9 I have seen as low as 11.07, should be in the advertisements section here. My stock ZL1000 with my 245# ass ran a best of 12.09. I suspect at my current weight I should be well into the 11's

Found out Proform will work..after talking to proform tech telling me it would NOT work. So...you can't believe everything you read or hear. BTW....Dynatek Shift Minder DSM-4 part 132.00 Looked at the instruction schematic:

http://www.debben.co.uk/DSM.pdf This also show some other goodies to hook up.

how about 10.86 on a gs1100?

Found another run on this website:

The ZL900 is faster, but is it quicker than the ZL600? I dunno....the lighter bike might get off the line a bit easier, while the 900 can eat 600's all day after the 120FT mark. I supposed with a drag slick, the 900 might snap out of the gates. I just think it's got too much power to keep the rear wheel from breaking loose.

Has anyone seen the gorgeous zl900 on ebay? 11000 miles.

The 900 with a good Shinko V-Rated on the rear is a hard launcher. I have only broke loose couple times on the track. Once out of the hole and the other shifting into second. When I race at Dragway42 I don't even have to heat up the Shinko, videos of me that do show the burnout are with a Dunlop K555.

I guarantee The ZL900 will eat a ZL600 in the 60' no drag slick needed!

You want cheese with that?

Nope....I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I think it would a toss up in the 60FT. I'm talking stock to stock and ZLM your bike is modded..so your disqualified, pulled over. Next!

I have a 100% stock zl9 sitting in the garage!
If you still feel confident with that please make a plan to come up and head to the dragstrip some weekend. Numedia Dragway is only about 20 miles from my house and the timming slips leave no room for argument!

I got a stock ZL1000  And a whole stack of timeslips for it

I have the chance to get a zl900 1985 with 18000 miles.....I would have to sell the 600...first..don't know if it's going to happen. My friend said he would buy it asap. Got the oil pressure gauge on. Take a peak. Going to take more picks and post in proper forum and discussion. Wanted to let you know that...yea I know my zl isnt the fastest, but it is quick. But I have to admit, it's light and I have been in circumstances that I needed more power @ 70.
I have to finalize the gauge fitting. I just wanted you to see that I could wire things up....correctly. wink wink . You know what's weird...much more parts for zl900's than 600's. That's got me thinking too.

the ZL600's are fast & lite bikes thats for sure, & definitely a bike that commands respect ! i think with what you want out of a bike, moving up to a ZL900,or ZL1000 may be a good move for you !

I just had a couple of instances in which I needed the xtra HP....for safety reasons and I didn't like that way the bike responded. Like merging onto a 65MPH highway, in which 80 85 is not uncommon. And tractor trailors passing you!

I'll keep you all up to date on how things are going. Can't thank you and this website enough. Shouldn't have said that about my 600...she's a beast...in the lightweight division.

I have been side by side with Furchin on his zl600. I pulled away pretty easy on my ZL1000 but certainly didn't leave him sitting still. It was then I knew the ZL600 is what it's designed to be, a mid size cruiser that can embarrass most big v-tweenies :laughing7:
