Good point Mark, the inline filter is probably not necessary. I'm just a worry-wart when changing things like this around - it just seems like if anything did get past the Pingel filter, with as much fuel as it flows, it would definitely create problems in the carbs.
I was also going to mention the #2 vaccuum thing - I almost forgot to plug it off myself....
One other thing I've noticed - and it may just be the way I have mine oriented, but if you take the tank off and set it on a bench without anything under the rear tank mount, the tank will rest right on the "on, off, reserve" lever and not on the base of the petcock itself. I usually keep short 4x4 pieces of wood around to jack up the rear of any tank I'm messing with anyway, but just a word of caution on that part.
