Should a buy a zl 600 year model 1987 if the engine is seized.. is there a chance i could unseize it.. how much am i looking at on spending on either options?

depends on how cheep you can get it!!

Without a specific list of what's goin for it what isn't , as well as, pics, there's no way to give you a good idea of what it's worth. A fellow member whose got previous experience with dealing with a situation will probably chime in and give you a good idea of what to get and what to avoid. Good luck....I just passed up with a pretty nice 86, that he wanted 700.00 for. So if the engine was seized and everything looked brand new...I would say around 800.00..If the ride looked like a basket case, 200.00 tops. Just my opinion, like I said, someone with an 86 will likely give you the best idea of what your in for.

Well there asking 400 but it needs a new headlight, the seat, the bracket, and the gauges.. Its kinda beat up but my dad can do paintjobs

That bike is going to need ALOT of time and money...it's a 100.00 get the thing outta my site kinda thing....400.00 asking price is less than a regular "500.00" bike (you know, the kind that's old and is showing signs of wear but is running) which would be running....and not have everything missing. These bikes in pristine condition are not going for more than 2500.00 At least that's what I've seen on ebay. So it's up to you....buy one that is all together for around 2500.00 that's in good shape, or take on the task of findin everything and getting it running...for close to the asking price of one in really good shape.

Honestly it has to be tore down, tolerances checked and then price compared to replacing it with a used one.

That one isnt worth 50 bucks unless you need parts from it! Personally I have been paid to haul better bikes away!

If you're mechanically inclined and can do your own work, I wouldn't offer anymore than 200. That's just me and my area but it's a 600 and for a couple of extra $ you can get a running one needing a polish and maybe a few small items. 600's aren't with much. There's an awesome 600 in my area for 2400 or trade. Already done up and no issues

We all know KBB is not accurate. Look up the value of your bike then see what they are selling for

agreed i was just adding information to be used to acheive a lower price if there is to be negotiation for price.
for me not running is just a parts bike and you have to have room to make a profit off of a parts vehicle.
i looked up trade in value not resale value to get a lower price quote.
with a locked motor and no history (dont know the bike personally) you dont know why for sure set in concrete sure why it was parked in the first place.
for me i would only park/store a bike with issues that i cant fix at the moment due to parts/ lack of knowledge so in this matter i would assume a blown motor and tranny then figure what i would pay from there.
if either of those prove good then its a bonus, if they both prove to be bad you are already ahead with what you paid and are willing to take on.
with this deal you are IN A SENSE getting a frame, tank, bars, rims, and tins, lights, and cores .
due to you not being able to check the motor and trans.
