One more attempt to get this running correctly

It ran well with COP mod, i did that a long time ago. I am going to strip the tank off and prod around with the meters and test tank. Maybe I can find a wonky wire from the fuse box plugs. I have a spare junction box somewhere but it hasn't shown itself, probably in a random box from when I moved. Right now a Z1000rs or a transalp looks good.
 
Well prfixer, I will be switching out the COP setup for the original coils and wires and see how that goes. AI said when the coils are wired in series (to get the required 2.8-3ohm resistance) it drops the voltage in half to each plug and that makes alot of sense. Ive had the bike so long and it's been out of commission for so long...

Stick coils swapped out. Started and ran till the bowls were empty. After supper I will put the tank back on and giver a test run if she stays running long enough to turn on the fan. If it dies again I need some new clear hose because my old fishtank tubing is hard and I will do float level test while it runs to see if there is an obstruction in the fuel inlet rail.
 
Nope still ran like crap, then died. Alot more bounce of the tach with the original coils. Running float level testing next.
 
When was the last valve setting done?

Clutch safety switch appeared ok when I took it apart but it only works with a jumper.

She bogs like it's running out fuel when cruising speed (no load) but takes the throttle pretty good through the revs.

Im going to check valve adjustment (again)
Pull the carbs apart (again)
Check continuity of my clutch wires
Check the ohms of the COP setup (maybe one is giving up the ghost)

What would you do first and what am I missing?

Im going to run it with the clear tubes and bowl drains open and see how the levels behave. The carbs were professionally cleaned different jets used, cleaned again, several times. It starts, throttles great then dies after a few minutes. I am thinking if my float levels are good as it runs and when it dies it is either the fuse box or cdi box. If there is a mis adjusted float or fuel starvation it will show during my clear hose test off the fuel bowls.
 
Parked it. Will do something this weekend, I have f-m off so I will find an hour or 2 to tinker on it.
 
:hello: I'd start with opening up the fuse box. Then swap out the CDI/ECU. I installed a CDI from a ZX 1000 on my ZL 10. My ZL 10 seems to rev up quicker. I'm not sure if Kawboy still rebuilds CDI. He might have some spares.
