I have a 85 ZL900 i recently bought as a project. New to this bike. It was dumping fuel out of the #1 carb Vacuum Slide diaphragm had a hole in it. I am looking to replace all four and rebuild the carbs completley. The slides are good but the rubber is not. I do not want to spend 400+ on the slide and diaphragm assemblys. I have replaced the rubber itself before. Does anybody know of a place i can get them by themselves? Also have heard different opinions of putting pods on them and would like some input as I do not have the air box.

Buy a set of used carbs for parts.

Alternately, contact wickedzl900 [master carb rebuilder on this site] and see if he has any spares he's willing to part with.

Good luck.

Or, just send the carbs to Rick (wickedzl900) and have him go over them, you won't be sorry.
He did mine 4 or 5 years ago and my bike still runs great.

How much for the carb set? And how much does Rick charge for a complete rebuild?

:hello: I think he charges $230. Most reputable shops charge $75 to $100 per carb. & they an't going to look premo. Rick is the way to go.

golddrakul,

Yes he is back to work. Apparently he is using facebook as his web site now, so oldskoolcarbs on facebook is where you can find him.
