Hey guys, it's been awhile!
I'm in the process of purchasing 2 spare rims (front & rear) for my 1985 ZL900 Eliminator and I found a set, but the owner claims it came off a ZL600. My question is this; will they match my ZL900 setup? Do these rims have the same width? Will I still be able to put a 170 in the rear and a 120 in the front if I choose to do so? Your input is appreciated. Thanks.

PS. I just looked at my rims on my ZL900 and I found two distinct markings: F-1176 for the Front rim, and R-1177 for the Rear rim. The rims I want to purchase have a F-1180 for the Front rim (http://www.ebay.com/itm/13161794259...em=&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr), and R-1181 for the Rear rim (http://www.ebay.com/itm/13161794259...l?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=131617942598&_rdc=1).

I know the dimentions on the front forks are different so I would say the rims can't be the same. If the front's different, I'm sure the rear is too. Someone with both the 6 & 9 will chime in soon.

I got them they on a 1000 but are the same!!! Pm me if your interested!!!

markus56,
The Front tire on that ZL600 rim is the same size as the one on my ZL900. Everything else looks the same as well. The rear on the ZL600 has a 150/80-15 on it, that's why I'm not sure about it's width. I called the Dealership and they told me they show different part numbers for each, but that does not mean anything. I had several ZX-12R bikes in the past (years 2000-2005), and many of their parts numbers were different from one year to another, however, more than 90% of the parts were a perfect fit!

The 900 rear is a disc brake. The 600 rear is a drum brake. The 900 front is a dual disc and the 600 front is a single disc.

Well, I guess that settles it. I guess the only ones that are a good fit and are swappable, would be the ZL1000 rims. Thanks.

ZL9 and ZL10 rims are identical except for the center coatings so you're spinning your wheels.....so to speak!
