Zl600 1986 rear fenders fit for 1997 model

Hi guys,

I'm so glad to have found this forum. I used to have a 1986 zl600 and after few years dedicated to other things I just bought a 1997 zl600.

However, imo the 1986 rear fender assembly was a much better looking one. The 1997 looks really 'soft' if you know what I mean...

Anyways, I was wondering if anybody could help with this. Would the rear fender assembly from a '86 600 or even a 900 or 1000 fit to the newer 1997 600?

I'm sure anything can be made to fit. The question is, will it look good. As for the fitting of any earlier 600 fender on the newer 6, I don't know as the rears are different in appearance.
