Hey guys, I just bought a 1986 zl900 eliminator, I love this beast. If has kenda 170 80 15 on back right now but I feel as if it sits too high up, maybe making the bike alittle twitchy. It also doesn't hold steady in a turn, i feel as if it doesn't want to stay level. The tires are both kendas and are about 10 years old. I was thinking about going with the stock size of 160 80 15 but love how it looks with the 170s, any opinions on wether any of the 160 series are wider than the others? I know that car tires can vary almost an inch in width depending on manufacturer and tire type. Being my tires are 10 years old anything will make it feel as if it's on rails.
Any info is appreciated, ow did I mention this things a beast?

I have the kenda cruz tires on my 900.. and I love them.,.I can do good burnouts and they slide sideways really nice,,,the 900 is not made to handle,,,ride it like a dirt bike if you want to go a bit faster around corners,,otherwise,,,the suspension will reach its limits before the tires do,,so it does not matter what tire you use,,,PERIOD

Yea, guess you rite. I took it for a 2 day ride to get to know it and I did find myself extending my leg out on slow speed turns, it's that 900 ninja motor that got me thinking speed.

I have 170 80 15 shinko and love them. no matter what you put on it will not handle like a cruiser bike, but put her in a straight line and twist her ear and HANG ON!!!!!!!!

10 year-old tires are dry and hard as a rock. Anything will be an improvement.

Search the site and do some reading - there's tons of opinions and threads on tires. Later.
