Hi all

I have a firing issue with my bike (ZL600b):-

On tick over when cold choke runs fine, warms up turn choke off runs on a rough idle (jumps between 900-1200 revs) pull away and cylinders not firing correctly and will jump between running on 2, 3 or 4 cylinders revs jumping all over the place and stinks of petrol. I took her to a local recommended garage and they did a full service replaced spark plugs etc but still does it until...... really warm and ticking over then she's fine..... until you ride 1/2 a mile down the road and she starts playing up again.

Garage say they can't see what the problem is and I'm at my wits end. I have spent longer warming her up, put carb cleaner through, replaced the battery but makes no difference. I'm thinking it's either electrical or carb related.

Have been to other garages in area but they won't touch it because it doesn't have injectors and/or an engine management system (including the Kawasaki garage O.o )

Really need some help and suggestions please
(or if you're in South West Wales a recommended mechanic)

Thanks :-)

just a guess but it sounds like your carb float levels may be out whack letting too much fuel into the carbs. Might be time to pull them and check the float levels.
