bought this bike a few months ago and its always had the temp light stay on until the bike warmed up then it would shut off. and I know it still works because it had an issue with the fan wiring and the light did come on once when it got hot in traffic. is this normal or is something screwed up?

also the fan doesn't kick on when the bike is running but if i shut the bike off the fan will kick on for about 20 seconds then shut off, anyone have any idea why it would do that?

thanks
Brad

:hello: Most likely it is the larger of the 2 relays under the right side of the fuel tank.

Yeah, the fan comes on after shut down. The temp. sensor is lower than the one for running temp. It keeps the bike from cooking after shut, but personally, I think the fan is only cooling what's in the radiator. Anyhow it's normal and ...what R.J. said.:headbang:

Any part numbers for these relays? I too have the exact same issue, albeit, my warning light is functioning correctly, but the fan just won't come on while running...I'm thinking about calling you R.J. so I just hook up a marine switch and be done with it. I'm done playing around with this and just want to ride this summer.

:hello: Scoob. I already explained in total detail on how to fix it correctly, but bye all means you can call me any time. Do you still have both my numbers. It is easier to explain it on the phone. My Connie sensor is on its way. I am still going to do the test to compare them. I made up special test leads for when I test & compare them on the stove. I found all my spares. I have one extra one that I bought from MadMaxx. I paid $50 for it but will sell it for $35. That is the price of a new one if it was still available. The Connie one was also $35. My parts should be here next Tuesday. I'll do a test report on my findings. You can find the part #s on any Kaw parts sight. I can tell you which parts you need.

Relay part numbers and still available.

Pretty cheap too! I don't know what's going on, but for less than 60.00. With everything else I've thrown at this sled, it's pretty dam cheap. After spending so much time on this bike, I'm a lil brain dead when it comes to solving more issues. I just want to RIDE~
