Hello fellow riders! I today synced my zl-s carbs with self made tool(added picture ot it too) and changed spark plugs (old ones were rusty and 3 diffrent types). I iddle is now smoother and i dont hear anymore chain noise. But there is one little issue maybe i just want too much, but idle rpm-s are wery little up and down 50 +/-, uploaded video of it to youtube:

That's a home made manometer, for showing pressure delta. You will have to have some way to buffer the vacuum pulse and keep fom sucking the fluid out. Very primative but works. IMO, just buy a real sync gauge.

first i synced 1 and 2 with that tube (filled with motoroil, conected to carb vaccum holes between im syncing) then 3 and 4. after i used screw between 2 and 3 to sync first and second half. Did i do it wrongly.... or something bad doing like that? it was my first time doing it.......

:icon_scratch:
how do you sync carbs with a 2x4?

I figured you used it like this...:Whaxatk:
Naw I'm just bustin your chops...Whatever works for ya bro!

i did plugs from wood and put them into the vaccum hoses. Whitout them cycle didnt work at all, and measuring was impossible. "Sucking" the fluid out wasnt problem, tubes were enough long, and balance changed swiftly. But who ever else is going to this way put oil into the tube at least 30cm (oweral leght), less wont do the job. real gauge costs like.... i wanna pass that :notworthy: mine did 3 euros only:hello2:

Doesn't sound too bad to me for your idle.

if you look video (sorry about quality) tachometer arrow is often changeing (about 50 +/- rpm). As im compareing with my car it doesnt seem normal, there is everything constant on idle. Excuse, i havent got any serious experience with bikes

The idle going up and down is normally a sign of "hunting", some of the causes are vacuum leak, idle mixture screws, bad fuel. Doesn't sound like you removed the carbs, but might be a good time to remove and clean. But check the easy stuff first.

Hello, by any chance did you count the turns on those screws? I got this barn find and need some base setting to go by to sync those carbs. It should not be off too much, however o mine those screws were removed.

Btw, yours doesn't sound bad at all...

Hello hello!

i didnt count nothing, i only did max 1 turn, or eaven less. Thouse screws are very sensitive. I didnt have to turn them to one end and start balancing from that point. Maybe just maybe for you for starting look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS77T2CUsjI
it isnt precise but u could get your bike to factory settings.

thanks, this I have covered. The only reason I've asked is because it is the same model and not a new bike, so would assume similar wear on compnents - as is similar levels of adjustments until I fine tune it.

To start, set the screws so the butterfly valves are all positioned the same, just a hair above the throat body. Think the manual actually says so the first bleed hole is visible, but at work and don't have manual readily available.

Then sync the same way he did 1&2, 3&4, then match to each other.
