85 zl900..my radiator fan doesn't come on during or after a ride? How do I check it?

Just out of curiosity, how do you know if it should turn on?

First I would disconnect the fan & run a set of leads/wires from the fan to the battery to see if the fan is good/runs or not. Next check the wire lead on the thermo switch located at the bottom center rear of the radiator. It has a single black wire lead. A broken/fraid wire will cause the fan not to run.
