here is a link to 3m's website and there is a pdf file with info on strength. the ca9 holds up to 2000 psi of pressure and cures in under a minute. http://www.shop3m.com/62381703305.html
Definately dont get your fingers glued together with this stuff that would not be much fun to get those apart. Im not sure where to get it in an individual bottle but its a little pricey by the case.

I use a lot of different adhesives, loctites, two part rtv's, you name it. Personally, I would not use a cyanoacrylate type glue as fatman listed (no offense fatman). You have two different materials that will expand and contract at different rates which could fracture a rigid glue joint over time. I would look into a two part RTV. With a two part system, you can change the catalyst ratio to affect the hardness. Also before it cures, you can clean it with iso alcohol which will not damage the lexan. Let me see what data sheets I have at work tomorrow. I might even have something I can bottle up and send you.

Yeah I'm not using a ca at all. Lmk what you come up with. And thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions. All are appreciated.

Dammit, I forgot to look things up while I was at work. I will see what I can find tomorrow.

The stuff I was thinking of is Pro Seal 870. I think it's industrial use only and not for sale to the general public. I will have to see what else is out there.

Do you think JB weld would suffice? It's good to 500 degrees and good as far as petrochemicals go.

JB Weld would hold. One thing I would do tho, tape off the lexan except for where you want the adhesive and rough up with scoth brite to make sure the adhesive gets a good bite. Lexan is not the best surface to glue things to over long periods of time.

For what its worth, I made a "test" tank from a polycarbonate water bottle last fall, used JB Weld to seal the brass fitting into the bottom. After submersion in gas on and off since then, the JB Weld literally curled away from the plastic.

I decided a while ago that I hate how far out the blinkers stuck out. Today I did the abreviated blinker stalk mod ;)

This shows you how far they used to stick out compared to how I modded them. They were this long all 4 corners.....yuk. I wanted to maintain the stock blinker look instead of replacing them with some cheapies.

after modding front and rear. I like it soooo much better. Got the idea from searching this site. Thanks again guys.

I picked up a helmet with a bluetooth handsfree/audio system built in so I can take calls and listen to music while riding. I wanted to easily see who was calling and change songs so I made a mount setup for my iphone.

Here's a shot of the mount

iphone in mount day time. Nice thing is the iphone screen is bright enough to easily read in direct sunlight.

iphone in mount at night. Can also be dimmed way the hell down so it's not distracting. This is still like 1/4 brightness.

I detailed and metal polished her. She cleans up real nice for a 23 year old whore.

we'll start with the business end of the stick

looks good ian,,, now get the pocket dyno app installed and tell me how it works for ya.

How about the clear clutch cover? What did you end up using to seal it all together without using bolts/screws/etc?

I'm up in the air on mine, looks kind of neat, doesn't leak thank goodness - hahaha. Just not sure I would want to leave it on a bike that I might run hard. Later.

I used JB weld. 1000 miles with no issues. There really isn't a whole lot of oil in the clutch cover. Just a little spray on the clutch. It doesn't fill up much. A little splash on the lexan is it. There's no pressure either so it's not a high stress application wether your putting of flogging the snot out of it (how I ride). I get a ton of compliments on it.
