1. Guest,
We need good tech writers that are willing to help out here at ZL-OA. If you like taking photos of jobs as you perform the steps on your repairs, have historical ads/documents from old magazines, or any else you think belongs in the Technical Library than you might be able to help. Send a private message to Furchin, Mudrunner88, Chris, Jarney, Wuputt, or Markus56 and we can lead you in the right direction to get started.

What about something like a yamaha FZ1? my local vetrinarian has an 04 for sale with just under 6000miles in very good condition for 4500.bucks. I havent really studied the bike to compare it to others recently but if memory serves the rideing position isnt reall forward like some of the others. Just a thought as I rode by this afternoon and saw it in his yard with the forsale sign and then latter saw him in the grocery store and asked about it.

This 86 is going to be my commuter for the summer, smooth as silk, 35 mpg, the KG Slider backrest feels GOOD on this old mans back. Woke this bike up from a 20+ year slumber, has less than 3K original miles! Rode it over to the new house today, that's one bike down and 6 more left to move!

Comes off in 10 seconds! The KG Slider backrest is hens teeth for the big Magnas, and generally sell in the 400-600 dollar range. More than I gave for the bike........... :rotf:

Once you try a rider backrest for a long ride you might change your mind about having one on the bike. I put one on one of my bikes thinking I would try it for one long ride and it never came off !

I could see one on a ZL1000, but not a ZL900. Probably wouldn't be hard to piece one together............

Have you considered the often overlooked street fighter version of the venerable Hyabusa?http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/mcy/3818184827.html ...it would look really cool next to the old skewl ZL... not near as homely as the Bandit (naked Katana) 1200!...and faster to boot...

:hello: I like it but me being short with T-rex arms I can not ride it. Why bother with a passengers seat on it anyway.

I don't think the Bandit is ugly. I like the old school look. And as for bang for the buck, you can buy them around here used in the $2000 to 3000 range. 3Ed3N13Hb5L85Ef5Jbd5j91b005557b6f1652.jpg 3Kb3M53H75L15Fa5M1d5rf359ee495afd16b5.jpg

here are 2 for sale in that range. Both 1200's

Not ugly...just homely...kinda like if an FJ and a Katana had a baby...lol Here's one with a Holeshot exhaust and a Corbin Gunfighter seat already on it...too bad it looks like an illegitimate step-child..http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/mcy/3782851857.html I could lower it...but...man it needs better DNA...

:hello: I do not see anythink wrong with the Bandit. If I was able to touch the ground I would own one. It is as close as one can get a UJM in the Suzuki line up.
