1. Guest,
We need good tech writers that are willing to help out here at ZL-OA. If you like taking photos of jobs as you perform the steps on your repairs, have historical ads/documents from old magazines, or any else you think belongs in the Technical Library than you might be able to help. Send a private message to Furchin, Mudrunner88, Chris, Jarney, Wuputt, or Markus56 and we can lead you in the right direction to get started.

:hello: I have a 35 mm mechanical ceramic seal coming from Kawboy. He got it from the SnakeDoctor a few years back. He said that it has a part # on the box. I'm going to try to find more by cross referencing it with different suppliers. I found 3 suppliers. #1. http://store.gaddisinc.com/?gclid=CKDTornG_tMCFdc8gQod4t8DUA #2. http://sealtecgroup.com/products/standard-seals/ #3. http://sealryt.com/?_vsrefdom=adwords&gclid=CP2VuOTJ_tMCFVQlgQod-ckEUA Also I found another Kaw seal part # 49063-S004 from a 2004 KLX 400. http://www.motosport.com/oem-parts/part-number/49063-S004 I ordered one. Price $25.14. I sent a PM to the Snake Doctor but have not heard from him as of yet. He was last on the site 2/17. I hope he is OK:

:hello: Kawboy I received the water pump & parts today. Thank's. I'll do your pump later on in the week. The box for the new 35 mm seal doesn't really say who the manufacture is unless it's called Mechanical Seal :laughing7:. I made some calls today & searched the WEB with no luck. Also I ran the #s on the box & had no luck. I found another KAW OEM part # 49063-1001. Price $70.87.:pain10: It is for 79 to 82 KZ 1300 & 83 to 88 Voyager 1300. http://www.motosport.com/oem-parts/part-number/49063-1001 I'm not ordering that one. :laughing7:. IMG_4240.JPG IMG_4241.JPG IMG_4242.JPG Here is the 49063-1001 on E Bay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kawasaki-49063-1001-SEAL-MECHANICAL-/282475374990?fits=Make:Kawasaki&hash=item41c4d8298e:g:2~sAAOSwGJlZFmNu&vxp=mtr By looking at the pic this may be the 35 mm. Figures the OEM one that we need would be the most expensive. :pain10:.

:hello: I spent the morning again searching for the 35 mm seal. I found another supplier in Colorado. I'm waiting on return calls/E mails from 4 suppliers. http://www.rocketseals.com/Oil-Seal...rF45YUeA3WVpaXrEFjeZFZxYK8MJmlmTbAaAuBH8P8HAQ Also I called K&L to see if they could match one up for me. They said that they don't do that. Seems like these days no body does. :pain10:. I have 6 or so pumps that need the 35 mm seal. Is anyone else looking for this seal I'm about to just toss all these pumps in the trash. If I could I'd order them from the GPZ Zone across the pond but I can't because they go threw Google & they want me to delete my other 2 E mails. IMG_4260.JPG

:hello:Just my 2ct: searched a little and found this jap. company TOURMAX where all ceramic seal kits are named like WMS-90x where 'x' are diff. numbers for diff. bike brands; trick is to find out which is the 35mm without buying and measuring. Maybe this is dead end street but just wanted to mention.

:hello:I just googled for 'tourmax' and got over shops to offers and sometimes lists, you can even search for WMS-901...WMS-909 to get hits (no ZL, ZX or so - we're too old, our bikes are too old, our minds are too...:laughing7:).

:hello: I got the same thing. I think I found one. Check out size 0127-B on second line of the right chart in pic. Read the dimensions & refer to the drawing in the upper right hand corner. 20170524_091213.jpg The Manufacture is in the UK. The supplier is out of Golden CO. Seals Unlimited Inc. http://www.sealsunlimitedinc.com/ The person that I contacted is Bryant Fields. Phone # 800-346-1604. He is going to contact the manufacturer & get me a price quote. He is confidant that this seal will work. I E-Mailed him with all diminutions, pics of the seal & the water pump.

:hello:That's cool...but d3=30 (Metric) - aren't you looking for 35 ? Btw: this 'view attachment #' isn't working for me (...not found) but I can open the pics; if that's the same then o.k.

:hello: The chart diagram pic of post # 84 or pic # 20 here is the one that Bryant sent me. In the chart part # 0127B line # 2 Row d3 the 30 mm measurement is the cup size & not the lip size. Here are the pics that I sent Bryant. If someone thinks that I should send him any other information let me KNOW. :hello:I figured that I've spent over 2 1/2 years & over 100 man hours looking for this seal. If anyone wants any of these mechanical ceramic seals put your order in NOW. I told Bryant that I needed a dozen for myself. Most likely the more I order the cheaper they will be.

:hello: No not yet. I'm still working on Ron's ZL 1000. I'm waiting on parts. Also I have my Grizzly to finish up. I have to take the 4 into one collector on the ZL to get welded. Some one done a poor job of welding it & it is leaking threw the welds.

:hello: Bryant got back to me on these 35 mm seals. They are $16.26 each. It will be about a 10 week turn around time frame. $16.26 x 12 = $195.12 + 14.95 shipping = $17.50 each. When I get the 8 pumps rebuilt I'll be putting them on E Bay so that I can recoup some of my money. Not counting these seals I've spent close to $300 on parts & had only about 6 people show interest not counting the 8 or so pumps that I did for other members. Also these 8 pumps I bought off E Bay cost me around another $280. I did this so I would have pumps on hand for faster turn around time. My labor rate for members will still be $30. $80 parts, & $15 for return shipping with $150 of insurance. Total $125. Parts include 3 O-rings, 1 oil seal, 2 bearings, 1 mechanical cermaic seal & 1 C-clip.

:hello: OK: That's great. I forgot to mention that I would like the old pump for core exchange minus the cover that way I'll always have pumps on hand. Some time in the middle of August I should receive the 35 mm. mechanical seals. In the mean time I will inventory my stock & order the OEM parts that I'm low on.
