1. Guest,
We need good tech writers that are willing to help out here at ZL-OA. If you like taking photos of jobs as you perform the steps on your repairs, have historical ads/documents from old magazines, or any else you think belongs in the Technical Library than you might be able to help. Send a private message to Furchin, Mudrunner88, Chris, Jarney, Wuputt, or Markus56 and we can lead you in the right direction to get started.

Words can't describe how amazed I am with @wickedzl900 work on my left for dead ZL600's carbs. Anyway, I have since quickly shipped two more sets of carbs to him ;)
Here are some before and after pics.

:hello: We have a few here in the US. One is in CA. I had Rick do 6 sets for me a few years ago. Turn around time for all 6 sets was about 3 weeks. Some carb cleaner out fits don't get the carbs as shinny like chrome as Rick does. They say they don't do it because it may rune the carbs by changing the orifices sizes. They was referring to soda blasting so I think.

We have a good oscillating carb clean tank and ultrasonic cleaner. Good chemicals is key.

:hello: They want twice the money to do carbs than Rick. I bought a NOS commercial grade Fisher Scientific ultrasonic cleaner from the 90s about 5 years ago for $200. It has a 1.5 gal. tank. It was a Labs back up but was never put into use. It also has a heater that goes to 165 *F. I've used it on carbs and water pumps. I use SharpTech products in it and they are not cheap. They have a product that makes aluminum shiny. It costs $100/gal. You can mix it to 8 parts water to 1 part solution and it can be used over & over. I filter out the contaminants while the solution is still hot.

Desert, the carbs look fantastic! They turned out so shiny. Congrats. I am going to follow up with Rick and check if he can work on my KZ carbs.
