:hello: This morning I started to put all the 250 sub-parts together. (CLUTH COVER) New OEM parts. IMG_6247.JPG New oil site glass installed IMG_6248.JPG Used a 17 MM deepwell scoket. IMG_6249.JPG Polished shaft & pre-fit new needle bearing & oil seal IMG_6250.JPG Ready for install. IMG_6251.JPG Pushed bearing in with fingers. IMG_6252.JPG Used a 12 MM deepwell socket for bearing. IMG_6253.JPG Used 14 MM deepwell socket for the oil seal. IMG_6255.JPG Prefitt clutch engaging rod. IMG_6257.JPG IMG_6258.JPG The oil level site window was hard to get in. My powder coat guy did not plug it off before shooting it. Time spent 1 hour.

No body work needed on anything......just sand and paint. That's a good price....I will be getting back with you when I get the tank mounts repaired.

:hello: OK: MarkUS. It may be more if you want the underside of the tank painted. Today I did some work to the 250. Mounted upper tripple tree & forks. Fitted speedo & tack. Remounted rear fender & rear seat. I had the rear & front fenders painted again. I also mounted the handlebars. Spent about 2 hours wet sanding & hand buffing parts. I spent 3 freaking hours looking for parts & inventorying them. I put a small dent in clearing the table. :laughing7:. :hello: Today I got a few things done on the 250. I pulled the starter & painted it. Cleaned up the motor. Installed the 2012 EX 250 water pump. Installed the valve cover & the stator cover. Installed one coolant hose & two coolant pipes. I also painted the clutch perch & cleaned up the front brake master cyn. I was interrupted so much today it made my head spin. :laughing7:. It just sickens me to no end. :hello: Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads. I didn't get much done on the 250 today. I have yet to put in a full day on this bike. I mounted the coils along with new spark plug caps, new plugs & new 7 MM copper core wire. The bike had the wrong plugs in it. Installed the clutch cover, right foot peg assembly, tire/rim, new chain, I also had the brake drum powder coated BMW silver along with the brake drum stay rod, brake rod, brake rod spring, adjusting nut & that gismo that the brake rod goes through which was all installed today. Installed the upper coolant hoses, thermostat housing & rad cap. I also put on new brake shoes. The old ones was starting to come apart at the edges. I've never seen that before. The parts that came off was really hard. Tomorrow I hope to get in 12 hours on the 250. IMG_6308.JPG IMG_6312.JPG IMG_6311.JPG IMG_6315.JPG IMG_6313.JPG IMG_6314.JPG

:hello: Thank's MarkUS. I'm fed up with all the other FN crap that I have to do before I can work on the 250. :pain10:. I'm missing parts. :pain10:. I had to pull out the water pump because I forgot to put in the oil seal. :banghead: & I don't have one & the one I ordered won't be here until thus. Now I have to run to ACE & it's so FN hot in my garage. I've changed my soaked cloths 3 time today. I think next month I'm going to put a window in my garage so that I can put in one of those window A/C units.

:hello: While today I managed to get some work in on the 250. I installed all the controls along with new OEM levers, left new grip, new intake carb boots, NOS front brake line, NOS opening throttle cable, new clutch cable, headlight bracket & new exhaust header gaskets. Tomorrow I'm going to rebuild the front brake cal. & what ever else I can get done. I spent 4 hours today trying to find an oil seal for the water pump. RJ, make sure flat side of copper is toward the head on your exhaust gaskets.

:hello: While today was a bust. The only thing I did was rebuild the front brake cal. Also I mounted the carbs, hooked up the choke cable & throttle cables. I spent 5 hours trying to get the air box to carb boots on. It's super tight. I get the boot up in then it falls into the air box. No room to get your hand in the air box. It looks like the air box needs to come out in order to install the boots. I won't be able to do that until I get the bike back on the ground. First, let me say your making some motorcycle porn there ;) Bike looks astonishing. I mean, if they ever did deluxe version of EL250, it would look like this.
Regarding the carbs installation without loosening the airbox you will not have enough space to maneuver the carbs to fit the outlets into the boots and you really need to push them hard while changing the angles to make it jump in into the place. I have reinstalled carbs in this model at least dozen times and it PITA every single time. Anyway, great job R.J.!
