Bike before tear down. This bike has little to no rust. Seat cover & foam is dry rotted. The bike is complete except for the mirrors & it doesn't have the stock down pipe. 20180707_130110.jpg 20180707_161613.jpg 20180707_161628.jpg 20180707_161708.jpg 20180707_161724.jpg 20180707_154926.jpg

Printing the pics and taping the pic to the box would work good too....till you get to the last one and forget what you were looking for....

:hello: When I bought this XL 70 at VMD 2018 the bikes speedo read 1822 miles. Before tear down I put about 120 miles on the XL 70. For being 45 years old it ran great. I smoked a 2018 Honda CRF 110. When I pulled the fuel tank, side covers & seat off the frame it had no dirt caked in just dust. I'm thinking the mileage may be correct. Even the tires look original. They never lasted more 3 K miles. Even the turn signals aren't beat all up. IMG_6781.JPG IMG_6782.JPG IMG_6783.JPG

:hello: When I first brought the 70 home I bought a new OEM 6V battery $23. The bike kept blowing the 10 AMP main fuse which is the only fuse in the circuit. That's the reason I bought a new wiring harness. As of now I don't really see anything wrong with the old one. :banghead:. All the bulbs are blown out in the speedo. The old 6 V systems would blow out all the bulbs if you did not run a battery in these old Hondas. IMG_6784.JPG IMG_6785.JPG IMG_6786.JPG I found some rust on the back of the head light mounts. IMG_6788.JPG I put new sheeving & new ends on the turn sig indicator harness. Also all new 6 volt OEM bulbs. 0.60 cents each.

:hello: Today I replaced the Honda 4 mm sheaving tube for the front brake switch. The old tubing was hard like peanut brittle. :laughing7:. I also did the 8 mm sheaving tube for both left & right controls. It took me 4 hours to get the wires through the sheaving & down through the handlebars. :pain10:. I used Amsoil spray lube to get the wires down the tubing & through the handlebars. I removed some more parts for powder coating. :hello: DeeDees Dad Don loved his old Enfield almost as much as I loved his Wife. :laughing7:. She was hot. She was always kissing on me every morning when I'd go to get DeeDee to walk her the bus stop. True Story.
