That is one nice lil 250 but the guy's gotta' be smokin' crack! No way it'll bring anywhere near what he's asking. Maybe half that!

The duck tail hangs a bit; condition is perfect, something for Kawi collectors with a glass showcase.:laughing7:

:hello: His quote: BARRETT JACKSON AUCTION COMPANY ESTAMATED THE VALUE BETWEEN $3,000-$5,000. I'd say $1800 at the most. I gave Chris $800 for the one I bought my son whick has 1195 miles on the clock. I have spent a grand on new parts so far.

Like the TV show that the hosts would evaluate the cars with the owner before it went across the auction block and predict what it will be bid up to.

    Condition 1-5
    5
    Collectability 1-5
    1

I'm going to guess there are no opening bids at that price and the owner just wasted the auction fees.

Maybe his wife said sell that thing and he don't want to, so he gets to keep it and make her feel better about it by putting it up for sale.

I'd consider it collectible. How many do you see out there? And in that shape? I have the same bike in the same condition and have gotten some nice compliments on it. They may just not be at that value, YET.

I'm sure you have had some attention with a vintage bike in great shape. Realistically what does a new suzuki gz250 go for? $3200.... Run what ya brung and enjoy the ride. There are many here that take alot of pride in keeping the ol zl's alive and on the road. I'm glad you, dommie67 are one of them. It's pretty cool when someone asks how old the bike is and appreciates the condition!

Thanks for the kind words 87kawzl. I very much enjoy seeing one of my old Kawis getting more attention the some of the high dollar customs.

:hello: If you read the old road tests on the 1988-1994 250 Eliminator's. They got fantastic reviews. They even out ran the Ninja 250s Fast forward to 2017 & read the road tests of any 250 street bike & the old 250 Eliminators still out perform any newer 250 cc street bikes. I know because I have every issue of Cycle World magazine from 1974 to present. :laughing7:. Also they red line (14,000 RPM) much higher than any other 250.

:hello: I wouldn't sell mine for that. Two things that I've noticed is that the turn signals have shades & the intake carbs boots has regular SS hose clamps. I would of used OEM. :laughing7:. Also on the bottom of the front of the radiator has 4 orange running lights mounted to it & 2 red ones on each side at the top of the radiator. s-l500 (12).jpg s-l1600 (9).jpg s-l500 (5).jpg

:hello: Rich Daddy will buy a brand new one. Most likely a croch rocket. Then the kid will wrap it around a tree & get killed. Then rich Daddy will try to sue the Dealership. This happened to our local Dealership. Thankfully the Judge threw it out of court. What happened was rich Daddy gave the 18 year old kid a back pack full of cash so he bought the fastest bike that the Dealer had. The kid rode 2 miles down the road & got killed. Rick Daddy told the Judge that the Dealer had no right selling his Son that bike. That his Son never rode a bike before & & did not have his bike endorsement. The Judge told rich Daddy that if someone handed me 20 K cash that I would sell him a bike too.
