:hello: So you don't have a Confederate flag. :laughing7: Me either. If you do you are called a racist. The flag of the South has been banned from every State Capital. This really upsets me. It has nothing to do with hate. Also every Confederate Statue has been taken down from every public building. As far as that goes they pretty much have erased history. Next they will rewrite History books & say the Civil War never happened. The Liberal Progressive Communist left has had History Text Books changed to suit them. They all sicken my stomach. :laughing7:

:hello:I noticed it when all confed stuff vanished from ebay, got some stickers&patches before :laughing7:. You still get it here after searchin' @ 'right places', esp. the confed flag and the old Georgia flag marked as 'topsellers':laughing7::laughing7:. The more they forbid the more it is wanted, surely you can get that stuff under the desk or @ AB-circles...:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

:hello: I here ya on that. That's like when the Liberals tried to ban the so called assault rifles. AKA the Evil Black Rifle EBR. No body hardly wanted one & all's it did was drive up the prices. Now you can't give them away. Man it really pissed me off when the Valley Forge Flag Co. in PA quit making the Confederate flag. Next they will go after the Don't Tread on me flag. I can't wait to see what reason they will give for trying to erasing another part of our History.

:hello:´┐╝It's an upside down world: you can buy and wear in public Nazi stuff over there, we can buy and wear in public confed stuff over here; if I'll be ever demanded by a cop to remove or cover my confed patch on leather jacket, he'll get the answer '...the day when burka and niqab are forbidden!' :pain10:

Because of some WWII-souvenirs they found here in German army barracks they will now change the names of some barracks to eliminate a piece of the German past...:icon_salut:

:hello: I bought 2 NOS OEM inner fork tubes for $160 shipped & 2 NOS OEM radiator shrouds for $75 shipped for the 250. The fork tubes that are on the bike are pitted really bad down low & most likely will damage the fork seals. I'm getting the side covers, front & rear fenders paint for $125. :hello: Thank's guys. I get the parts back from the painter Monday. I'm hoping to have her done by the 18 th of October. The left foot peg mount is bent. I have a replacement coming Thursday. Also I bought 2 new front foot pegs from a 1994 EL 250 to match the new rear foot pegs. The 88 250 did not come with a passanger set up so I had to by NOS rear peg mounts & all the associated hardware.

:hello: I started disassembly on the 250 today. I bought a wiring harness loom & a fuse box from a 1994 EL 250. I had Kawboy referbish the fuse box. I'm using these 2 things so that I can hook up the tachometer the correct way. The frame is rust free so I'm going to leave it alone. IMG_4845.JPG IMG_4846.JPG

:hello:I did some sand blasting this morning on some 250 parts. By sand blasting the parts myself lowers the price of the powder coating by 40%. The lower tripple tree & front brake line clamp is now ready for powder coating. My friend Ron who lives near me ( 2 Miles) is doing the powder coating for me. Looks good, do you wear a hood? I hate doing that open air blasting. You end up finding sand in orifices days later without properly suiting up. I've been trying to justify a cabinet blaster for the past couple of years because 90% of the parts I need done would fit in one and they aren't much money.

:hello: Just finished doing some more blasting. I had 2 hoods & they both fell apart. CHINA junk. :laughing7:. To hot 90* out for a hood anyway. I just do my sand blasting outside. I have a fan that I set on high to blow away the sand particulets. FL is nothing put a big sand pit. :pain10:. I always have sand in my ears anyway. :laughing7:. When I need sand for my sand blaster I just dig off the top layer of sand in my yard & fill up a 3 gal. bucket. :laughing7:. See last pic. :hello: This afternoon I started on the forks. First I stripped them with air craft remover to get the clear off. Then I hit them with my small air grinder using med & fine grit 3 inch disks. I also have 4 inch disks. Also I use a low RPM buffer with 10 inch pad. It cost $90 from Harbor Freight. IMG_4863.JPG IMG_4865.JPG IMG_4864.JPG

Same buffer that I've got. My outer forks are getting long in the tooth and this will be on my to do list probably when the Pittsburgh potholes blow out the seals. For now it looks like I never clean the bug guts off them.

:hello: I did more blasting today. I bought a grab bar & side rails from a 1994 250 Eliminator. The 88 did not come with a set because it had no passenger seat. They was rusty on the inside so I primed & painted them. Also I did the inside of the head light mount. IMG_4873.JPG IMG_4874.JPG IMG_4875.JPG IMG_4876.JPG IMG_4877.JPG IMG_4878.JPG IMG_4879.JPG I also replaced the bent left front foot peg mount. IMG_4871.JPG

:hello: Since I have it all tore down I mays well do it right. Today my dent repair guy Brice was here to take dents out of my wife's Toyota RAV 4 caused by Hurracane Erma so I had him do the dent that was in my NOS OEM fuel tank. That paintless repair trade is an art. The fuel tank was on E-bay a year ago for $500 & this year for $189 or best offer. So I got it for $150 plus $25 shipped. For Brice to remove the dent was $50. He spent about a half hour on it. He spent about 2 hour on my wife's RAV & charged me $200. It's much cheeper than having a body shop do repairs & paint. :hello: My NOS OEM front brake line $45 & opening throttle cable $25 came today. Both are discontinued from Kawasaki. The brake line that is on the bike shows some dry rot & the open throttle cable has some fraying at the throttle tube. Also I bought new OEM parts to rebuild the front brake caliper. IMG_4891.JPG Chris: Have you ever changed the oil in the 250. If so what brand & weight oil did you use. Thank's.

I need to have that dent removal magic done on my tank. There is one the size of a quarter from the signal hitting the tank when one of the previous owners dropped it. Perfect type of dent for that type of removal. I've lived with it for 20+ years tho, I guess it's not high on the priority list. They did a nice job on your tank.
