Hi guys thought I'd try a question. Not sure how much activity this site gets but I just bought an 89 el 250. Love it!!! Unfortunately I do a lot of 55+ highway driving and I have no idea what I'm taching at, and my speedo isn't reading correctly. Its about 10-15 mph over what I'm doing (gps verified). Anyway, I see that the 90's 250hs's do have a tach and the ninjas do as well. Is it simply a matter of purchasing a used one and plugging it in or whats the story?

As a side question,...

Four days back i bought one, and it's a awesome bike, i cleaned the carburetors on my own because it was full of crap. I gave 1 1/2 turns to both the carburetors and now it runs pretty fine. I would like to know what is the average fuel consumption of this bike?. My friend says it only does 20 Kilometers per litre of petrol. Well that's strange because it is a 250 and it should be more than that. Even a four cylinder motorcycle does somewhere around 22 KMPL. Any rough figure so i can tune up...
